The following General criteria are the core eligibility criteria for the Trust and are utilised by the Trust Office in the first instance to assess the eligibility of an application.
Applicant Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must fall within the parameters of charitable, cultural, philanthropic, recreational, or purposes being beneficial to the TSB Community Trust’s "Specified Area" – From Mokau in the north, to Tahora in the East and Manawapou River in the South.

Applicants must bank predominantly or solely with TSB Bank - Please follow this link to view the Trust's Banking Criteria Policy.

The governing body of each group must be the applicant (e.g. School BOT, Club Committee).

With the exception of those that qualify under the Touring Productions Policy, only one grant will be approved to any applicant in any one financial year, either an individual, annual or a special grant.

Only one grant will be approved per applicant. The main entity of each Club or organisation must apply, applications from sub-groups (such as jubilee committees, men’s, women’s, or juniors sections) will be returned. Youth groups such as Girl Guides and Scouts are to make one application per year under their respective district. The Trust does not grant to groups who fragment in an attempt to qualify for grants.

Individuals who are selected to represent New Zealand, along with Field Scholars, are eligible to apply for an Individual Grant

Service organisations (i.e. Lions, Rotary, etc) do not usually qualify for grants, but the individual projects which they are fundraising for may apply directly to the Trust.

Political lobby groups are not eligible to apply
Project Eligibility Criteria

Funding for facilities will be considered if evidence is produced that the facility has significant community use.

The Trust does not fund retrospectively; the project being considered for funding must not start prior to a grant being made.

The Trust does not fund ongoing operational expenses, but may consider specific costs as part of an overall project with a defined outcome.

Group travel is not generally funded; with the exception of provincial representative teams.

Applications for activities/projects/assets must be received from the organisation that will govern and/or manage and/or own the activity/project/asset. Consideration will be given to applications from lessees dependent on the conditions of the lease agreement.
