Chair
HAYDEN WANO (RCpN, PGDipHSM, AND, MBA, Fellow Australasian College of Health Service Executives)
Hayden has over 20 years experience in senior health management, and is currently Chief Executive of Tui Ora Limited (a Maori Development Organisation and provider of health services) and General Manager Iwi and Community Midlands Health Network.
He has over 35 years health sector experience in mental health, community and medical services. He has held positions as Director of Clinical Services with Taranaki Healthcare Limited, and Chairman of Taranaki District Health Board 2000-2007. Hayden also holds a number of other governance positions, including Chairmanship of the Health Sponsorship Council and is a member of the recently established national Health Board.
Hayden is of Te Atiawa, Taranaki and Ngati Awa Iwi descent and is currently Chairman of Te Niho O Te Atiawa House, Parihaka. Hayden is married to Antonia with three adult children and one grandchild. He is a keen surfer and spectator of a variety of sporting activities and has a particular interest in local and indigenous art.

MARISE JAMES (Chartered Accountant)
The Trust welcomed Marise to the Board as of July 2008. Born and raised on a dairy farm in Taranaki, Marise completed her accounting qualification through Polytech in Wellington in 1981. Marise met her husband Bryn, while working in Wellington and they returned to New Plymouth in 1985 where they began a career in dairy farming, working their way through the traditional sharemilking path to farm ownership on various properties around Taranaki. After 21 years involvement in the sector, they sold their dairy property.
During this time, Marise has worked as a rural accountant for Staples Rodway in New Plymouth and is now a director of the firm. Special areas on interest include rural accounting and business planning. Through her involvement in farming, she has also held various governance roles in the rural sector and is currently also a Director of Landcorp Farming Limited and Farmers Mutual Group. Marise has two adult daughters and personal interests include travel, sport and home.

ALEX BALLANTYNE (B.A. Soc)
Alex and his wife Maree were both born and raised in New Plymouth and have lived in Eltham for the last 22 years. They have been married for 29 years and have 4 grown up children.
Alex is very proud and honoured to serve on the TSB Community Trust: the task of disbursing funds to worthy causes sits well with his personal ethos of practical Christianity.
Alex’s working life has covered a wide gamut from factory and farm hand work through to business and social services. Through these avenues Alex has gained a good understanding of the needs and aspirations of our diverse Taranaki community, and his academic pursuits (B.A. Sociology) have given him a sound analytical and theoretical base.
Alex is presently employed part-time by St Joseph’s parish Eltham and the NZ Police, and as a current District Councillor (STDC) and Chairman of the Eltham Community Board, as well as an active member and trustee of numerous other community groups, “I feel I have a good grasp of current community developments and activities”.

ED PARKER MBA, Dip Dy Sci & Tech, BSc(Chem)
Ed Parker moved to Taranaki in 1990 to work for Kiwi Dairies (Now Fonterra). Currently he is a senior consultant with Aretê Consulting Limited, working predominantly in the Oil and Gas Industry.
Ed has a keen interest in strengthening community. He was General Manager of the community trust WISE (Waitara Initiatives Supporting Employment) for 3 years. The Trust’s purpose is to provide employment and to improve housing. He has also volunteered in various leadership roles working with children and youth.
Ed lives in Waitara with his wife and two children.

STEVE CORKILL
Born in 1954 at the Opunake Cottage Hospital and educated locally, Steve served an electrical apprenticeship in Opunake and spent the next eleven years working overseas.On his return with Rosie to Opunake in 1986, they have since married and have two sons, Michael and Andrew.
At this time Steve and Rosie established the business “Corkill Electrical” and went on to win the Taranaki Medium Business Award and ECANZ National Electrical Contractor (owner/ operator) Award in 1999. Since sold, Steve runs “Corkill Systems Ltd” a business specialising in development and manufacturing of automation and energy efficiency equipment for dairy sheds worldwide. He has also recently set up Paintball Direct NZ, a web based business wholesaling paintballs and paintball tournament equipment throughout New Zealand.
Steve has a particular interest in community health issues and is a current Trustee to the Coastal Taranaki Health Trust. He is a former member of Opunake Lions Club, former Trustee to the Opunake Sports & Recreation Trust and a Justice of the Peace. He is also a director for several companies and on national advisory committees. In the past Steve has been a Venture Taranaki business mentor, STDC Community Board member and judge for the Taranaki Business Awards. Steve is a keen fisherman, paintball player and skier.“I am passionate and proud of 'the coast' and Taranaki.”

HARRY BAYLISS
The Trust welcomed Harry to the Board as of October 2009.
Harry was elected to the Kiwi Cooperative Company Board in 1988 and over the following 18 years, a period of amazing growth and development in New Zealand’s Dairy Industry, he played a leading governance role. With the formation of Fonterra, he became a foundation Director and served until his retirement in 2006. Harry started his career with a degree from Massey University and with his wife Helen followed the sharemilking path to farm ownership. They in turn are now employing sharemilkers to operate their two dairy farms at Otakeho in South Taranaki. Harry and Helen have two adult daughters who are currently living and working overseas.

BRENT SCHUMACHER
The Trust welcomes Mr Schumacher to the Board as of October 2009.
Brent was raised on a Dairy farm in Huinga east of Stratford and was educated in the region as well. On leaving college he commenced his employment with Newton King Travel and then married his wife Maree, and travelled overseas.
On their return he re entered the Travel Industry and is now owner / operator of Stars Travel International here in New Plymouth.
Brent is also currently a Director on the Board of the First Travel Group and pastimes include family, golf, horse racing other sports.

MARY BOURKE (QSO JP DipTchg)
The Trust welcomes Mary to the Board as of October 2009
Mary Bourke is a committed South Taranaki-ite (now residing in Stratford) who understands well the concept of collective responsibility that goes with this regional role. Her experience in evaluating, prioritising and distributing funds to worthy projects began as an elected member of the Central Regional Arts Council during the 1980s and has continued in one way or another ever since.
Self employed and specialising in governance and independent facilitation, she also chairs the WITT Polytechnic Council, the Taranaki District Health Board, and is presiding member of the Lotteries Community Facilities Grants committee. She sits on the Bishop's Action Foundation, and F&E Rodie Trust and is an interim Trustee of the Taranaki Family/Whanau Centre.

KELLY MARRINER LLB, BA
A fourth generation to live in Central Taranaki, Kelly returned back to the province to commence a career in law in 2000 having graduated from Victoria University of Wellington with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Japanese.
Kelly is the Principal of law firm KM Legal, Hawera specialising in Criminal and Family Law. She is also a Council member of the Taranaki Branch of the New Zealand Law Society, South Taranaki representative for the Taranaki Family Court Users Committee and is also on the Board of Trustees at Stratford Primary School.
Kelly is married to Andrew, who was born and raised in Taranaki. They have two young daughters and has a strong interest in information technology and cuisine. Kelly's love for cuisine has also led to her finding a creative flare for making novelty cakes especially for children.

KERYN BROUGHTON LLB, BA
Keryn was raised in Stratford on a dairy farm, attended Straftord High School, and then went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in Psychology) at Massey University, before venturing overseas. Following her return to New Zealand in 2000, Keryn completed a Bachelor of Laws at Victoria University and then worked as a barrister and solicitor for seven years before commencing practice as a barrister sole, specialising in the area of family law.
Keryn has been a Trustee of the Taranaki Community Law Centre since 2005, and was delighted to accept an appointment as a Trustee on the TSB Community Trust in 2011. Her pastimes include coooking and entertaining. She also has an interest in art and in following horse racing.
