Eligibility
Conditions which must be met in order for you or your organisation to qualify for a grant.
Sustainability
The ability of the project or group to sustain itself financially in the future - i.e. a 'sustainable project' is a project that, if on-going, will be able to be maintained by the group without continued funding by the Trust.
Criteria
The set of standards or conditions on which a decision to fund the project can be made.
Special Grant
A special grant is a grant to any one group which is more than the group can expect to receive on an annual basis. Special grants are normally given for major projects, hosting national events, reunions, upgrades of facilities and other significant circumstances. Special grants are not generally granted to any one group annually, unless there are exceptional circumstances, special grants will not be granted to any one group less than three years apart. Groups applying for a special grant are not eligible to also apply for an annual grant in the same financial year.
Annual Grant
Groups meeting Trust criteria are eligible to receive an annual grant if they submit an application annually. Annual Grants may be used for general expenses of an organisation or other purposes as the organisation requires. Annual grant amounts vary depending on the type of group, it is policy to ensure consistency that similar groups receive similar annual grants.
Pledged Grant
Any of the above grants can be ‘pledged’ dependant on certain conditions being met. When a grant is pledged the applicant has one year to fulfil all conditions and uplift the grant. Applicants can apply to the Trust for an extension of the one year uplift criteria if the project is likely to proceed in the following six months.
Procedure
A written series of steps which explain how to carry out a task.
